The Madla Ranch was settled in 1855. Mateo and Constantine Madla came over from Poland by ship and made their way to Texas. They settled here in the beautiful hill country of Helotes and we’re proud that seven generations have resided on the ranch still to this day.
In 2012, the Madla family vacationed in Colorado and experienced zip lining for the first time. They enjoyed it so much that they returned home, looked at the hills and valleys here, and said, “we can do this!”
Ralph and Rodney had a vision. This vision was to build a zip line course and give folks an opportunity to experience the scenic Texas Hill Country.
In 2014, we opened the zip line course to the public and have continued to add to the ranch activities. In 2020, we opened a disc golf course featuring 18 baskets placed around the ranch with historical markers that share some of our family’s history.
In 2022, the
Hill Country Keg became the center-piece of family fun at the ranch. Nested under our centuries-old heritage oak trees, the Keg is a place where you can enjoy your favorite beverage and relax with friends while listening to live music.
